I have been wanting to post for weeks, so I have a bunch of stuff to tell you about. I’ll go quickly!
- The week of July 14 to July 20, I am having a sale and contest for my young adult novel, Caught Between Two Curses, during the All-Star Break. I’m asking friends, family and colleagues to get on board with helping me get the word out about the sale and my book, which currently has 16 reviews on Amazon with an average of 4.7 stars out of 5.0. If you want to help, you just go to this link and sign up for a Facebook status, Tweet, or blog post (I provide everything you need), and you are entered to win a free ebook from Rocking Horse Publishing. - Some great books I’ve read lately that I would like to mention:
-
Linda Neas’s Returning to the Circle: Inspirational Wisdom from Women to Women is a short, inexpensive book that is packed full of power. You will love this–from the inspirational quotes from women to the personal stories by the writers Linda included in the book, you will feel stronger and inspired when you finish this book. Linda states in the intro: “The concept for this book came after I had witnessed yet another young woman struggling to find herself in this world of iPads, iPhone, wifi and cyberspace. My heart ached for her. . .Years ago, actually not that many years ago, women sought the counsel of other women. Whether around the kitchen table over cups of tea, under the private respite of the Red Tent or around the campfire to the beat of a drum, women instructed, cared for, inspired and affirmed each other. Today, this rarely happens. . .With this in mind, I began the idea for this book.” It is organized to be read in 30 days with a small piece each day to study and reflect on. If this sounds interesting to you, you can find Linda’s book at Smashwords for ONLY 99 cents.
- Here are two great books that I have written News-Gazette reviews on. First, there’s Jadie Jones’s young adult/new adult sequel (book 2 in the Moonlit trilogy) that came out this month. Windswept picks up right where book one ended with the story of 18-year-old Tanzy Hightower who learns she can not trust anyone in her life and the blood in her veins is not even her own. To read a summary and my thoughts, visit this link: http://www.news-gazette.com/arts-entertainment/local/2014-07-06/windswept-continues-new-fantasy-series.html
- Another book I reviewed for the News-Gazette that I loved was Archetype by M. D. Waters.
This is book one in a two-book science fiction series with a strong woman main character. It takes place in the future when most women are infertile, and scientists and big business are trying to do everything they can to solve this problem, despite the consequences. Read more about that book here: http://www.news-gazette.com/arts-entertainment/local/2014-06-08/readers-will-be-glued-authors-debut-novel.html
- I recently found out that Caught Between Two Curses is FREE for Amazon Prime members through the Kindle Lending Library. This means, that you can check it out for a set amount of time and pay nothing AND I still get royalties! So, it’s a great way to try out a book for your teen or yourself. You can find CBTC on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J8UWR4K (Note: more to come on this, but on July 14 and 15, it will be ONLY $0.99! )
That’s about it for today! What have you been reading lately? Love to hear from you.
